Surgery Day
Dec 07, 2008
I had to be at the hospital at 9:15. I waited and waited, and finally I went back to my room, and hour and a half after getting there. And headed to pre-op. Amy, the pre-op nurse, is so comforting and sweet. I thought I was going to have so much anxiety getting the IV and heprin shot, but I was just as calm as could be. Everyone at the Bariatric Hospital of Oklahoma is awesome. In came the doctor and anthes. and I was off, it was my turn. I was fully awake being rolled into the operating room, and moving over to the surgical table. I was laughing because they play country music during surgery, and next thing I knew I was in the recovery room. The first person, I awoke to was Tammy, a resp. therapist, and boy, was I glad to see her!! LOL! She rolled to me to my room, where I got out of that bed, took 2 steps, yes right after surgery, and was relaxing in the bed in my room. I never had much pain at all. I have to say the biggest thing is the gas, they blow your belly up with, and GAS-X strips are the greatest!! I had such a great experience and left the hospital 24 hours from the time I went in for surgery. I love Weight Wise and the Bariatric Hospital of Oklahoma!!
5 Days Pre-Op
Nov 25, 2008
I'm getting nervous and I really don't know why. Everyone does I guess. I stopped at Walmart on my way home from Edmond and bought a journal so that I can write in it all of the reasons I'm having this surgery and every time, I'm feeling anxious or asking my self why I'm doing this, I can just look at my list and it will out weigh any feeling I'm having. I highly recommend this to those that are in the pre-op phase. I'm looking forward to getting the surgery part of this journey behind me! Let's just see if that's how I feel in a few days, LOL.
