Back Again

Jun 22, 2012

Hi My name is Aly. I had RNY in July of 2005. At my heaviest I was 226 pounds at 5'3'. In one year I got down to 122. I felt terrific. Then my husband got deployed, I moved back to Georgia and stopped working out. I also started some of my old habits ( snacking). In the last 5 years, I have put on 45 lbs :(. It is amazing how quickly you can put weight on. Weight loss surgery is truely a tool to help you get on track... but it isby no means a way to keep you on the straight and narrow for life... you can fall off the wagon and you can gain ALL your weight back. That is really scary.

Well, I am dieting again. The big "D" word that we all battled with our entire lives. It's awful, I hate it, and at times I am so angry at myself for taking my weightloss surgery for granted.  As I mentioned before, I am dieting and beginning to exercise again. I have lost 5 lbs this week, so hopefully I can loose about 30 lbs and start to feel better. It's terrible to be 40, and have aching knees and bad back !!!!
