thoughts and reflections
Jun 07, 2010
It has been 14 months since I started my weight loss surgery journey. I have lost over 130 lbs and more than 5 feet in inches !Physically this has been pretty much a piece of cake...not that I can eat cake, lol. I am very used to the way I eat now, lots of protein, veggies, some fruit and almost no carbs, no white sugar, white flour.
I do splurge once in a while, but that is ok. The weight is still coming off, just slower. I can really see it in my face. I actually am wearing a two piece bathing suit this summer....my tummy leaves much to be desired, but who cares? So much better than before.
Mentally it is much harder. I find that just because you lose weight doesn't mean you lose behaviors and habits. Like wanting to eat when I am stressed, bored, etc. Alcohol is different too. Boy cheap date these days.
Attention that I have been getting is really nice. After feeling invisible for so long, I forgot what it felt like to get positive attention. I feel really good and very confident. Back on the exercise again. Lots of time swimming and walking plus weights.
