"I met my surgeon, Dr. Timothy Duckett, several times before my surgery and was always glad I chose him because he made me feel comfortable and wasn't in such a hurry that he couldn't answer all my questions (I brought a list with me:)
He made sure I knew all the possible complications from this surgery and that WLS is simply a tool and that it will NOT do the work for me.
On the morning of my surgery, he explained to my family exactly what would happen during surgery and answered all of THEIR questions as well.
After surgery, he came out of the OR and told my family how well my surgery went and even told them all the important things that I would need to do after surgery and once again answered the questions they had after my surgery.
During my first week post-op, I had to call his office twice for different pain and nausea medications and my calls were promptly returned even when I called at 11:??
His bedside manner leaves nothing to be desired and he has a wonderful aftercare program in place and strongly encourages his patients to participate.
I also liked that he required a commitment from me to excercise daily before he would recommend the surgery as it showed me that he truly wanted me to succeed and not just collect a payment from my insurance company.
His office staff has to be the MOST accomodating staff I have ever had the pleasure to deal with!!
I have absolutely no reservations about choosing him as my surgeon or recommending him to another future WLS patient.
