Finally!!

Apr 06, 2010

Well, Finally I had a fill under the Florescent Light...8.5 now....I had a tough time adjusting to the fill..But I FINALLY have restriction...Very small portions of food now is what I take in...Some good days and some bad days...Boy oh Boy do I have a lot of chewing going on..I think that my band is just a tad bit to tight... At times I feel the saliva rushing up my throat and at most nights I no longer can sleep flat on my tummy for the fact of saliva build up...So on my back, I am..A small sacrifice to pay. I will update my doctor on whats going on with me..My BP is 117/80 no meds. I'm in the gym, I look & feel great. I do feel that my oxygen level is not a strong as it use to be. I will let the Dr. know about that as well.. Anyhow - since the Fluorescent fill that I received on 2/26/10 I have dropped a total of 13lbs as of today 4/6/10..I'm 169lbs.

Update....Been Hiding

Nov 25, 2009

It's been a while since I've posted, not much physical change, but I feel great. With my medication my blood pressure is currently 118/83 it use to be 167/110.  I'm grateful for that..I had another band test, because according to my report I'm full over 9.5cc. But I can eat an extremely large portion of food...The same amount before surgery.  So we completely filled by band and the slowly took out fluid until I was able to drink water.  So for Thanksgiving I'll be eating soft food.  I'm OK with that.  Also when the fluid measurement was about 7.5cc.  We will check next month the amount to see if there was a leakage, or the measurements were incorrect.  I pray this work...I need to drop a min. of 20lbs to be satisfied, It's  not my goal, but I can live with that...Keep me in your prayers

Flu or tight band same symptoms

May 15, 2009

For the past few days, I though that I had the flu.  I couldn't keep anything down, and I had an upset stomach.  I couldn't eat anything except yogurt and it took me two days to drink gator aide. I wasn't hungry, but I realize that I wasn't able to drink water.  So unfill here I come.  Of course I lost weight and will most likely put back on some of the water weight that I lost.  But I'm going to record this 10lbs lost, with also a WOW moment.  I needed a belt and I actually was able to fasten my 11 year old slim size 14 daughters belt around my waist.  After my small unfill, I was so happy to drink water.  It was like a fine wine.  Keep me in prayer.  At least I know that my band does work and weight lost is around the corner.

Good & Bad News Results on Upper GI Series

May 12, 2009

Good and Bad News is how Dr. G greeted me yesterday.  The bad news is my band has more than 10cc to fill and I have plenty of room for a few more fills and the good news is that I will receive 1.5cc today.  We went over everything the pros/cons, ups/downs, what to expect and not expect..I so relieved that everything is OK. I was worried of the slippage or erosion. But my Dr. promised me that he would get me to the finish line and that I believe.  He wants me to lose about 25lbs more and I'm cool with that....I may even try for 35lbs instead.  I'm in no rush as long as it happens, I'm fine.
I do have a problem and I'm not sure if its my band or me coming down with the flu or cold.  Before I went to the office, I was sick on the stomach with a serious headache.  Could be nerves, waiting for the results of my GI series or could be the flu/cold. I'm hardly ever sick, but my little one is spreading her germs all over me. I didn't even mention that I vomit. (I never do that) and it slipped my mind.  I can't keep anything down, I can drink water but my own saliva makes me sick..  I'm going to stay home and rest take some meds.  If it's not better it may be that my band is to tight.
We will see.

Happily Excited & Nervous

May 05, 2009

I had my upper GI series test  done today.. I was rolled over on my back, my side, my tummy, my back, my side and my back again, while sipping on that white fluid..I have an appointment with Dr. Goyal on the 12th and I am happily excited & nervous about the results.  Dr. Goyal has promised me a while ago that he will get my weight down and I completely trust him.. I was worried that maybe my band slipped or had erosion or me being one of  the percentile that this weight loss system doesn't work for. But NOPE, that's not me.. I have never vomit except once for laughing so hard and I have no pain.  The only thing that says to me that I have been banded is the scars and the difficulty of drinking soda.  So on the 12th I will play hooky from work, get my results from Dr. G and have a solution that maybe I need some major filling.....Even though I've gained a few pounds, I've had my second WOW moment.  The little rubber fingers that we use at work, wouldn't stay on my finger....I had to put on a band aid and insert my finger into the little rubber finger... Presto!! that worked..

Finally!!

Jan 25, 2009

It's been a few months of no changes as far as the scale.  I felt that 180 was almost my finally number.  I have to be honest, I felt unsure of myself at times and I also had patient for I knew a change will come.  My doctor promised me that he will get me to my goal and I have faith that it will happen.  At times, I have this doubtful feeling because the pounds does not seem to come off.  But I haven't felt this good about myself in a long time.  I didn't go out and purchase any clothes yet, but my family gave me a surprise birthday dinner and fashion show with a new wardrobe for me, it was awesome.  The size ranged from 12-10 and deep inside I just can't believe that I'm wearing a size 12.  I think at times it may be the type of clothes and from the fancy stores, that they may have purchased them from.  It was neat to have things that I would have not purchased for myself feel and look nice on me.  It was like a mini makeover.  I finally broke my plateau and dropped down to 176.  I don't see it, but hey, It finally happened.

No CHANGE, but I feel great

Nov 18, 2008

I have no weight loss but I feel great, I've been at a plateau for a few weeks, but I'm shrinking.. Everything is at the baggy stage (my clothes)
Dr.Goyal did a band test on me, He filled my band completely then I gulped a glass of water, which was almost impossible to get down. Then he refilled my band and added .05cc which is a total of 8cc. at 8.5 I could barely swallow.  So we have proof that my band does work, its just that I'm not at a perfect fit.  It's been a few days since I had this fill and I don't feel any restriction or fullness.  So, I'm just going to be careful of what I eat and I have counted my calories and all is well.  I have been faithful at the gym at least 3 - 4 days per week for about 60 - 90 min. Cardio & weights.  I have not seen any difference on the scale, but my blood pressure was down to 120/79 at this rate I will be taken off my meds and that was my goal to begins with. I didn't hit any of my goals this month.  But I did wear a pair of old beige pants instead of black and it was ok.  As far as my weight loss goes (maybe I've gained muscle instead)
Until the next time ......Stay focus
