10 year Surgiversary!
Nov 10, 2014
Nov 10, 2014,
Hi Everyone, I know it's been a long while since I've updated my profile. I am 10 years post op today. My life is going along just nicely. I have gained back about 20-25lbs from my lowest weight. I still maintain a 100 lb loss. So I'm happy with that and struggle to get the re-gain off. I am healthy and happy. Still not on any meds since losing all the weight, my blood pressure has been normal for over 9 years. I pray all is well with everyone who reads this blog. Be Blessed!
7 Years Post Op!
Oct 28, 2011
As my 7th Surgiversary is soon coming upon me, (11/10/11) A lot has changed. I just went to the OH Conference on Long Island and had a wonderful time. It's just such a shame to see so many of the friends I've met along this journey of mine, change direction in their way of support and encouragement. I've seen a lot of good people get hurt. It makes me wonder about this weight loss we find ourselves with. Some people lost the weight and allowed their vision to be clouded by the drama that surrounds them. Good judgement has been thrown out the window and replaced with lying, cheating & self promotion. I personally have no regrets with having this surgery. I love the person I've become and the woman that God has made me to be. I love my friends and love my life. I love my new grandson Trent. He is almost 16 months and truly a gift from God. With him in my life I have learned to appreciate the little things in life. God has restored my health, my spirit and my heart. I love me! I love life, I love my family and I love my friends. Whether they are WLS friends or bingo buddies, or friends I've met through FODOZ, God has blessed me with so many wonderful friends.
I really have grown to love the Good Sam support group. We are a family of sorts in that room. Carol and Roseanne are just two of the most caring and genuine ladies. They truly guide our group and give us real support and encouragement. I hope this post finds you all healthy and in good spirits. Be blessed!!
5 Year Surgiversary!! 11/10/09
Nov 12, 2009
I recently found out that I am going to be a Grandma for the first time come this Summer. I'm so excited about it. To think if God hadn't given me this 2nd chance at life I might not have been here to see my grandchild. The gift of life is so precious. I have something to really look forward to. I'm also planning a trip to Aruba in May for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Having this surgery has made this possible for me to look forward to with anticipation knowing I will be able to actually enjoy it. No asthma, hurting joints etc. Life is grand and my future looks promising!! Thanks and Glory be to God!! God Bless you all!!
4th Surgiversary!!
Nov 11, 2008
I weigh between 130 and 134 lbs. I have maintained that weight for some time now. I believe my body has just settled at that weight. Which I am perfectly fine with. I currently wear size 4 or 5 jeans depending on the brand and I can't complain about that!
I went on my very first cruise in September. Although the weather was terrible ( hurricane) and I got very seasick, I was happy to be away from the business for 8 days. I did a lot of walking in St.Thomas and I know there is no way I would have been able to do that before surgery.
So I am thankful for the blessings that God has given to me.
I hope everyone that reads this is blessed and encouraged!!
"3 YEAR SURGIVERSARY!"
Nov 12, 2007
Well it's been three years ago that I started my new life. A life of healthy choices and living meds free. So far I have maintained my weight loss. I am currently wearing a size 4 jeans. I feel great about myself. God has given me back my life and I am so blessed. I can't give HIM enough praise.
I am going to Baltimore in a few days as I did last year for the towing convention. Hopefully I'll get some pics and post them here.
Remember to thank God everyday for the blessings He has bestowed upon you and for the Blessing that YOU are!!!
Be safe.. God Bless!!! Have a great Thanksgiving.. and remember to think about what we are most thankful for this year.
"Walk From Obesity" walk!!
Sep 29, 2007
I did this walk for myself first, then for the support of an important issue.. obesity. It's a disease and an overwhelming dilemma in this country. More people need to be aware of the risks involved with obesity.
I did realize how out of shape I am. I haven't been exercising regularly as I should be. Boy was this walk harder than last year. I was huffing and puffing. But I walked to the end and back. I feel accomplished.
As for me. I am maintaining my weight. I recently fit into a size 4 pair of jeans from Old Navy. So that was exciting for me. But things are good and I'm still healthy. I'm very blessed to be able to say that. Life is good and I hope all is well with whoever may be reading this!! Be Blessed!!

My 2 Year Surgiversary!!
Nov 13, 2006
~November 10, 2006~
Two years have gone by since I had my surgery. Wow! It went fast. I feel wonderful. I am truly blessed! God has poured His wonderful grace upon my life.
All of my co-morbities are gone. I'm off all of my meds. I am at a healthy, normal BMI and I am at my goal weight of 126 lbs. I currently wear a size 6 jeans, dresses,,etc. Or a small in blouses. My shoe size went from a 6 1/2 to a 6 possible 5 1/2 as of this week my size 6 shoes were too big. My ring size went from a 7 3/4 to 4 1/2. I have a new stride in my walk. I feel confident and walk with my head held up high. Life is just great especially now that I can breathe.
I love the compliments I get from all of my friends and family. Everyone thinks I look younger now too. So that's always nice to hear.
My advice to anyone looking to have this surgery is research everything about it. Whether you choose gastric bypass or banding or ds. Just be educated and don't be afraid to ask the doctor questions. Ask him whatever you need to.. afterall it is your life. I also urge you to go to as many support group meetings as possible. You learn so much from the people who actually went through the surgery. Good or bad.. you need to hear it all. Then make a well informed decision. I go to a great support group at Good Sam Hospital in West Islip, NY. We meet every other saturday. I've learned a lot and met a great group of people. Some I call friend. Good luck to anyone looking into WLS and God Bless you all!
