My name is Angel and I am currently in the process of getting the Rou EnY Gastric Bypass surgery. I am going through the program offered at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center in Hershey Pa. I have completed my meetings with the nutritionists and have my meeting with the surgeon in about 2 weeks. This is my second time going through this process. I attempted to have this done in 2004 but ended when it came to meeting with the surgeon. My insurance had the surgery listed as an exclusion and there was really no way around that. From 2004 until June 2007 when I started the program, I had been attepmtitng to lose weights through different avenues (again). I went to weight watchers for most of 2006 and ended up losing 25 pounds which I gained back. I have struggled with weight problems all my life and have reached the point where I want to do something to fix it. My husband was given a second chance at life after undergoing a lung transplant at the end of 2006 and I want to be able to keep up with his new found energy. Plus, I want us both to be able to live a long healthy life togehter. I am nervous about what my insurance company will say (I have a new one that doesn't exclude it) and am praying that they allow me to go through with the surgery.
