Cheryl - One more mountain to climb and then the operating table is waiting on the other side. You can do it!!! Take the time as a pre - op to determine your personal goals. Write them down!! And then set the boundaries that you'll need in order to obtain those goals. There are a lot of issues you alone have to work out (pop, alcohol, sugar grams, carbs, etc) Think about it now, set your limits now and determine in your mind that this is what you're going to do for a certain time duration.
