My name is Melanie and I have two daughters(13 &11). I am married to a wonderful man and have a decent life other than being fat. I haven't always been fat I actually was average size when i had my 1st child in 1994. Now almost 14 yrs later I'm a size 26 (but tell people I'm a size 22). My husband and family I would have to say aren't very supportive in my decision. They think if I have weight loss surgery I should only have the Lapband but I'm not interested in it. I am trying for gastric (laproscopic) and my doctor feels that is best for me. I do believe my husband and family will be supportive of my decision afterwards but as for right now I think they arejust scared for my health as we know people from the past that haven't had the best of luck with gastric. I'm hoping to meet new people and hear their stories as they go thru the journey. I am a very optimistic person and whole heartedly believe I will never regret my choice for a healthy and smaller future!!
