OCT 15, This is Marty, Diane's husband . She had asked me to post her surgery up date to the boards. WELL> Diane made it through surgery. It took 1 1/2 hours and 2 hours in recovery. The next day. October 16th she was sent to the ICU with breathing problems. They were concerned that she might have a blood clot in her lungs. They had all kinds of machines in her room taking pictures of her lungs and how the blood was
flowing through her body. Nothing was found in the test.

During the second day in ICU she started breathing better and it took less oxygen to keep the o2 level up in her blood and her pulse was coming down from a high of 119 to 105 or so. Her blood pressure was all over the place I could make no sense of it. I left her in ICU feeling like she was going to be sent back to her room today and she was. October 18,2002 Today when I got to the hospital at 1:30 good old Diane was back. She was sitting up talking with her parents. She pretty much talked the whole time I was there. She got to take a shower this afternoon and has been walking the halls. No pain medication at all today. Her temp was back to normal also. She said the discomfort is like after she had the caesarian with our son Andrew. She is slowly testing her new stomach with water, apple juice and Jell-O. What a difference 24hrs makes. I know my stress level is way down. This is the first step in a new lifestyle for her and hopefully everything progresses the way it should. Marty
