hi everyone, i have been on this website for a few weeks. now i will tell my story. i am 57 years old and married to a wonderful guy for 10 years but has know him for 35 years.  i have three grown children that gave me 8 beautiful grandchildren and i also have 2 adopted grandchildren. i have been overweight for most of my life. i have tried every diet there is out there. the only one that really worked was w/w but eventually i did gain it back plus.
as of right now i am not employed but was a dietary supervisor for 7 years at a nursing home which i enjoyed until the rug was pulled from under me. am now seeking something else to do.
i have known a few people that have had the rny surgery and are very happy with themselves all around. i had decided to look into this for me and did a lot of research and knew this was for me.
i started this last may when i made an appt. with dr. roye only to be stopped in my tracks because of the insurance company. i had to do a 6 month "i can change program" with the insurance which contained talking to a coach once a month and achieve  goals during that month before the next call.
i finished that program in january and then proceeded to get the authority from them for the surgery.  i now have all my appts. for pre-op testing. the only one is the sleep study overnight. that i will find out when next week when i go for the eval.
i am hoping to have surgery the first part of april before my husband goes back on the road (truck driver otr).
