Creative Exercise
Jan 07, 2018
I hate exercise for the sake of exercise. I prefer to build it into my day and life. For instance, shortly after surgery I moved to an apartment where I purposely chose to live on the third floor, because I knew between going to work and walking my dog a few times a day, I would naturally get a good chunk of exercise. I also like to count gardening, yardwork, and housecleaning. I also hate exercising alone and am socially inept, so finding a walking buddy is hard.
I am going to buy a house hopefully in the next year. My husband hates diy and yardwork, so I am tempted to get a townhouse with no yard...but then I won't have the built in yard for gardening and exercise. My friends say don't get a townhouse because the stairs are too hard as we get older...but part of me thinks, well it is built in body work. I have no idea what to choose.
I just know I do not enjoy going to a gym, walking a track, getting up early to exercise alone. Sigh. I loved playing sports as a teen and kid, but I was only a little overweight then, and it didn't hurt as much.
I know I have to figure it out. I know I have to "build it in" to my life, so I do not see it as a chore. Have any if you successfully done this over a long period of time?
