"In the OR, it was pretty uncomfortable when they were prepping me for surgery as things were a bit disorganized and people were scurrying around. Eventually, though, I was under and the RNY was done with little problems, except for some mechanical issues that happened but were resoloved. The hospital stay was okay, except that the cleaniness of the room and bathroom was lacking. The sheets and bedding were not changed while I was there, as I would have expected it to be and the bathroom was not cleaned. Overall, my experience was good and nurses were very nice. My doctor was wondeful and very caring as well. "
"When I first met Dr. Rovito, I thought that he was really great. He did not sugar-coat things and told me what things would be like, but at the same time, I felt that he had genuine concern and caring for his patients. He is a very busy man and has lots of patients, so unfortunately, time is not something he had a lot of. My impression of him has stayed the same. He has answered all my questions and I love his bedside manner. Every nurse and hospital person I talked to told me that if they would have the surgery done, they would want Dr.Rovito to do theirs, so I think that is pretty high praise. Dr. Rovito wants his patients to get back into the swing of things ASAP as far as eating goes and I liked that about him. I was weaned off liquids and soft foods within about a week and I had no real problems with integrating "normal" food. I just had to chew very well and eat slowly. I would rate Dr. Rovito as an excellent doctor and someone that I would highly recommend to anyone. The only thing that I did not like about him is that he is a very fast talker and if you can't keep up with him, you may lose some of the info he is giving. Just make sure to know what questions you want to ask so you don't miss any info you need. Also, expect to wait awhile to be seen when you go to your appts. The 3 appts. I have had, I have had to wait about 30-45 minutes to be seen, so just make sure to expect and plan for this delay. He is worth it, though. "
