#1 Apt. with PCP

Sep 29, 2011

Well today was my first PCP Apt and it went well I guess.  My doc really didn't say much as he knows I need to lose weight and was very quick about the apt. My mom went with me and he really didn't do or say much.  I was just worried about how he was going to code/charge me as I soo need my ins. co to pay for my visits. The ins. co said they don't pay for "Weight loss" consultations WTF they will pay for the Sleeve but not the visits with your PCP to tell you what you already know!  Well he just said to continue WW, count calories and write down what I eat.  He also wants me to go get an X-Ray of my knees b/c I told him that they bother me sometimes a long with a Sleep Apnea  (sp?) test.  So well we see what the tests reveal and move forward.  My next apt with Dr. Morgan is Oct. 26, 2011 @ 9:30AM.... 1 down 5 to goooooo!!

Lap Band Seminar/Doc Apt Update

Sep 18, 2011

OK so  I was interested in the band and went to the seminar.  I then made an apt to see the surgeon the next day. Not wasting any time lol and some how I came out of there signed up for the sleeve.... How does that happen?  I'm still sooooo confused about the whole process I was so gun ho for the band and now I'm second guessing myself   for the sleeve.  I don't understand how this happened.  I'm doing so much research and looking up so many others that have had it seeing what good/bad things people have to say about the Lap Band and never even researched the Sleeve! I really thought that the band was going to be my answer but now I'm not so sure.  The coordinator at the surgeons office weight 500lbs and he now weighs 185 it was amazing to actually see someone that had it done in 14 or 16 months. I sat in his office and cried for 30 Min's not knowing what to do God bless my mother she really surprised me.  I asked her what she would do if it was her and she said "shit I'd let them take my stomach out" now if you knew my mom you sooooo would know that's not like her she would never ever say anything like that she doesn't even want me to drive on the Highway lol anyways I been thinking about what the doctor said that with my goal of 155+ lbs I want to lose.  The Sleeve would be my better option, I'm not going to lie and say I'm not scared shit less because I am.... But as one of my OH Friends said in a email she sent me "IF MY APPENDIX RUPTURED, I'D HAVE THAT SUCKER REMOVED!  IF I HAD CANCER THAT COULD BE EXCISED, I'D GET IT CUT THE HECK OUT!  IF MY BIG OLE STOMACH IS KILLING ME SLOWLY VIA MORBID OBESITY, THEN YES, PLEASE, CUT THAT THING DOWN!"  I do have Faith and I pray OK not all the time but I do pray...I do have 6mos to chance my mind due to ins. process so I really need to stop stressing myself out but its really hard I really want to be HEALTHY and live a much longer life but Its sooo hard to make as decision when it is a chance of something going wrong and having a complication.  I also know that if I do nothing It will in the end kill me early, so I've got to think hard and research some more and pray that I will have PEACE with my decision.

Sooo many people, sooo much info...

Aug 28, 2011

Well I have to say since I have joined this site last week its kinda fun on here.  There is sooo much info on here and sooo many people to chat with that want or have done the same thing.... I'm doing all the research I can on the Lap Band and I have to say I see lots of positive things... I saw pic's of people that soo didn't look like their self and look happy!! I'm hoping that next March or April I'll be able to chat with some that can help me through the process of the Pain, liquid, mush, solids and of course throwing up!!!

Thanks to all those that took time to chat with me and told me about the journey....

Starting the process now!

Aug 27, 2011

I just found this site and so far I think its great!  Learning my way around it.  My name is Jennifer I live in Virginia right now we are having a hurricane so its a little boring now... I have started the process and I am looking into all the info I can find about the Lap Band.

I weigh right now about 330lbs, I'm doing Weight Watchers for like the 1000th time but hey I hanging on by a thread.  Years ago when I did it I was at 330 and this time I joined in Jan. 2011 I started at 346lbs.  Sad I know but it is what it is and I know only I can do something about it.

I'm 32 years young lol and I have a 11 yr old daughter.  I want to live to see her grow up and clearly what I'm doing now isn't working cause I like to eat!! I am doing alot of praying b/c I'm scared about the Lap Band but excited at the same time...  I wish i could do it sooner than next year but I have to see my Dr and do all the things I need to do so my Ins. Co. will pay for it.

Since I'm new if whoever reads this can you email me @
[email protected] and tell me about your journey and how the Lap Band is or will be working for you.  I'm still learning my way around this site.

Thanks and I will be back!
