Jannine, I just read your profile page for the first time and it was so encouraging for me. I too was opposed to the surgery and actually bit the head off my PCP when he suggested it. But then started looking at my 3 yr old and realized I wanted her to be proud of her mom and not embarrassed by having a big mother. So I have set my consult and I will see you at the meeting on 8/8. March 21, 2006: Ok everyone here I am back from my first appointment with Dr. Ameri and had my staples removed...when I started here my weight was 353....now on my first time on the scale post op...I am 314.....WAHOOOOOOOOOO.......I cannot beleive it....I almost jumped today....

March 21, 2006: Ok everyone here I am back from my first appointment with Dr. Ameri and had my staples removed...when I started here my weight was 353....now on my first time on the scale post op...I am 314.....WAHOOOOOOOOOO.......I cannot beleive it....I almost jumped today....

Hi Everyone, I am just logging on to thank everyone for the the well wishes and prayers that I received..I am doing well....my body is making very weird noises...I guess it is par for the course...anyway just a little note about my journey so far...after surgery I ended up in the ICU because I had an abnormal heart rate or beat. so they wanted to make sure that I was really ok...then I went upstairs to my room...I was discharged on Thursday and came home to the welcome arms of my family...and friends...they are all supportive of my decision...weird thing is I am not hungry and considering I have had only water for 5 days it is baffling me....Dr. Ameri is the best I would recommend him to anyone..ok...gotta run..well walk carefully take shower and then go for walk....please keep all of the encouragement coming....

Just wanted to stop by and wish you the best on your upcoming surgery. May God bless you in all things that your pure heart may desire.May he bless you with knowledge,wisdom,understanding and strenght to have a wonderful life on the other side.I have 14 days left then I too will carry on my life on the other side.
