Hi All, My name is JoVonda, but everyone calls me Jo. I am a 30 year old wife and mohter of 2 little ones.  I've been married for 6 years, but have known my husband since middle school. I started this weightloss journey in 2007, a year or so after my son was born. It was kinda of hard for us to concieve him, so the doctor said that it couldv'e had something to do with my weight.

So I/we decided that I would have lapband surgery, because we wanted more children, and lapband was the more user friendly surgery for women who wanted children after WLS. In March 2008, I had lapband surgery. I did great the first few months, but was never able to reach my "sweet spot"  I had a total of 11-12 fills and still was able to eat whatever I wanted.  I lost a total of about 30 lbs give or take from the band. In February of 2009, we conceived again, this time, not trying to, at this point I was a year out from band surgery.

Well since I loss weight with my first pregnancy, without WLS, I thought I would this time too. The first pregnancy I lost about 40lbs, baby was very healthy 7lbs 10oz.  This go around, I had the band, didnt go get unfilled because I was afraid I would gain too much, and doctors said as long as baby was healthy I didnt have to. Well during this pregnancy also, I was alb to eat what I wanted but vomitted at least twice a day. I ended up loosing about 50lbs total from this pregnancy. Baby was healthy again....a little girl 7lbs 2 oz.

After pregnancy, I was still vomitting everyday and couldn't keep water down.  I went to different doctors even my WLsurgeon  and that when it was discovered that my band slipped and my weightloss was due to pregnancy not WLS. My surgeon gave me a few options and i decided to get a revision from band to RNY.  I'm so excited and scared at the same time regarding this surgery.

The band didn't work, I'm praying this RNY will.  I had surgery 12/15/10 and am down 17lbs since surgery. I'm praying I'm down 100lbs by next Christmas...if not more. My goal is to be 180-200.  My start weight for lapband surgery was 357, my start weight for RNY was 335.  I've never been skinny and dont want to be. I just want to be healthy.  And for look purposes I want to be THICK. LOL.
