Less than two weeks from my surgery date! I have lost 18 lbs. Dr Jeff said I should try to lose another 5 lbs before the date - April 17th. I promptly went out and gained 3.5 lbs! As of this morning, I have lost that extra weight, so I'm back to shooting for 5 lbs by the 17th. I'm excited about getting the band. I'm nervous about the surgery itself. Overall, I'm happy I made the choice to look in to WLS. I keep thinking about where I'll be next year at this time and all the things I'll be doing with Jon, Catie & Rachel. I can't wait!

I completed my 6 month weight loss with my doctor on Feb 29. I also had my training session at the bariatric center that day. I'm down 17.4 lbs and have lost a combined 11 inches from my waist and hips!
Yesterday, Lynn told me Dr Jeff has my file. She thought he should be submitting it to insurance withing a week. So I'm just waiting patiently to hear from them when the get the word from BCBS!

I completed the psych eval in November. I'm 4 mos into the 6-mo dr supervised weight loss. I was told I had to lose 14 lbs. I'm still working towards that goal. I'm hopeful I'll do that by the end of the 6th month. I have a date for my training session at the bariatric center, which is Feb 29. That's also the last appt with Dr. McClain and the end of the 6 mos! In March I'll meet Dr. Jeff Baker for the first time. After that appt, he will submit the paperwork to insurance (BCBS) and we wait. If things go according to plan, I could be banded by the end of April 2008!

Yesterday was my appointment with the bariatric nurse, Lynn. I was photographed and measured (how depressing!). Then we went over the 15 page health history that I completed. These are the steps for the next 6 months in my journey:
Lose 14 lbs (I thought they would as for more!)
Continue with WW (I re-started an At Work group a week ago)
Meet monthly with my dr to supervise my weight loss efforts in WW
Meet with a psych for 3-5 appts
Continue my weekly counseling
After all this has been completed, then the paperwork will be submitted the insurance company for approval. I'm hoping for the lap band.
