I haven't written in forever and who knows where to start.  I weighed about 261 when I had RNY in Nov. 2005 and I am down approx 100 lbs- give or take 10 lbs.  I currently wear a size 8 but have been down to a 6 in the past.  I am not the most compliant patient today- tho I was compliant for a very long time...diligently eating enough protein, taking my vits, etc.  I have had a helluva journey.....many psychological and physical changes, life changes, have had one emergency intestinal surgery since but was told by 2 dr's it was not bypass related and that I have no scar tissue and look great inside there!  :)

 

I would absolutely do it all again and I look at the whole thing as fairly easy if you can believe that.  I wanted very much to succeed and I feel I have.  Today I just want to begin to eat better and really want to get the body moving more.  I have been very blessed.  I lost the first 75 lbs in the first year....and another 20 or so lbs came off a little over a year ago....I have put some of that back on- but people would say that I am a good example of the surgery working positively.

 

I just celebrated my 4 year anniversary and I am doing excellent and the surgery was one of the best things I have ever done for myself.  I am very lucky- not the most compliant post op patient- I basically eat anything and everything- in pretty decent amounts- and still maintain a size 8/10 body.  Don't exercise much except for my daily commuter walk (30 quick pace minutes a day)...and the usual up and down stairs etc...

I did have a period of time dealing with low blood sugar- but it was short lasting and hasn't happened much since.  I keep peanut butter crackers near by in the event it happens.
