I considered weight loss surgery after a friend of mine had a vertical gastrectomy last July, 2007.  I kept looking at her in awe, saying 'that is something I couldn't do'.  Finally after months of watching her and researching the different weight loss surgeries I thought, maybe I could do this!  So my husband and I went to a seminar and talked about all the pros/cons.  We agreed that with my diabetes, history of my fathers illnesses and my two young children to consider, this is definetely do-able.
