I started this journey with another doctor in Melbourne 4 or 5 years ago.  First he left his practice and my insurance hadn't caught up with him so I way put on hold.  Then I started the process again and the hospital that he supposedly had a 'wing' at said they were no longer going to hold insurance for bariatric surgery.  I'm out again, and I was almost ready to submit the paperwork.  All the office could say is sorry there is nothing we can do but refer you to another doctor.  So then I saw Dr. Overcash late in the year.  Aetna was only covering WLS until 12/31 and so the race was on.  Got all the paperwork submitted and Aetna sat on it until mid December.  Then there weren't any surgical openings for me at Ocala Regional.  Crushed again.

Waited a couple of years to try again. Well, I really didn't think I was going to try again thinking that the Lord was trying to tell be something.  But, when my husband's insurance (cigna) announced that they would cover it if you jump through the hoops I started jumping. Hope motivated me and  I started inverstigating and asking people for their recommendations as to a doctor.  That's how I found Dr. Jawad.  Six months later, I'm getting ready for surgery!!  A dream coming true.

I've been heavy off and on through my adult life.  During my first marriage I ate to console myself.  Then lost it and when I got pregnant soon after my second marriage I indulged knowing I was eating for two.  HEE HEE  Second child came 15 months after that so I just kept eating.  Been eating too much since.  Youngest is almost 21.  Time to stop!~!!!!

Our son is in Firefighter school and our daughter #1 is a designer with a personalized basket company. Our youngest is in college working on a Communication Disorders degree.  Proud parents.

I teach autistic, Downs and developmentally delayed preschoolers for Brevard County Schools. Absolutely love my job. Off for the summer and if all goes right, I'll be 6 weeks post surgery when I have to go back.  My wonderful husband works for United Space Alliance at the Kennedy Space Center.  We have an anniversary tomorrow.  23 years.

Well, that's pretty much my story up until now.
