"I was at St. Luke's in upper Manhattan. My general feeling - keeping in mind that this is the only hospital stay in my entire life - is "so-so." The staff is competent, but a bit too informal for my tastes. Specifically I couldn't sleep the first night because of itching from the pain meds and loud talking by nurses aides in the corridor. The nurses never told me that itching was a side effect, and can be countered, until the following day. Because of that and other minor issues I wasn't overjoyed with this hospital. "
