Journey to my weightloss

Feb 28, 2012

Lets see, I dont know where to start.

Well, I will start from the very beginning. I was in a severe car accident on March 6, 2010. I fractured my hip, pelvis, leg, knee and wrist. Excape death twice, once on the surgery table of the my orthropedic putting the screws in my knee and 2ndly in the ICU.  IT was horrible, horrible times 50! Yes, that bad!

Because I fractured many bones and I am overweight, my orthopedic surgeons refused to do my hip replacement due to my obesity. So we decided to do traction. It helped out a tabit! My orthopedic surgeon told me i had to lose a significant amount of weight or try to do gastric bypass. At that time, I told him i couldn't get through knee surgery what makes him think i can get it together with gastric by pass surgery...

One night i am home cant sleep, I decided to go on one of FB group page that someone added me too. I decided to put my business out there to see what advice i can get from strangers. I came across so many people who had WLS, its amazing on the stories I've heard. For some crazy reason, my friendship started with a lady who has become one of my good friends on FB. She has answerd every question I've had about her WLS down to her own personal business. We've confided into eachother. She told me about the Gastric Sleeve, and since then, i've been  doing research about it for months and months and months. Every single day.

So, I've decided to do this Gastric Sleeve. Cause its BEST for ME. I started doing Pre Op in November. I've been to 3 surgeons and for some reason i didnt feel comfortable with them. It wasnt like they did anything wrong. I just felt "SOMETHING". SO i decided to do more research on another Surgeon which is Dr. Dakin from Cornell Hospital in New York. Let me tell you. I fell in love with him the first sight... Lol! His deamanor is strong, his professionalism is impeccable. I KNEW he WILL be the one to do my surgery. And guess what? I feel like TODAY is my first day of doing my pre op for some strange reason. To whom read this, please, PLEASe follow your instincts, gut, etc. Its worth it.. TRUST ME!

Currently, I am wheelchair bound, i barely can walk with my walker. I used to be very active. I am in a car club/ i am mother of 2 boys.  I am unable to sleep in my big bed. I've been sleeping in a recliner chair for 2 yrs. Smhh. Can you imagine??
I cant wait for all of this to be over.

Let the Journey begin!!! Thank You in advance for all the advice that'll be given.....
