The 3-week stall and then some good news.

Oct 04, 2009

Having had surgery on the 26th of August, I didn't know what to expect as far as weight loss.  But today is the 4th of october and the weigh in says 300lb. I did have a stall about the three week mark;this lated a week. Considering that I started out at 341.5 lb pre-op, for a six week journey it beats the heck outa Jenny Craig.  By now, if I had have been on that diet (again), I would most certainly be back to my old ways already and in the process of regaining.

The VSG tool has eliminated that idea and I find it impossible to think about it any other way....even if I wanted to, I couldn't.  The VSG is like a watchdog over you when it comes to food.  plainly put, it will not allow you to eat more than it can take, and there are sterm consiquencies if you try to work arounf that (not that you'd want to anyway).

At six weeks, I have noticed a large shrinkage in a lot of places, and feel great knowing that I am along for the ride, and that I basically have little choice but to loose this weight over time.  I don't like sweets, and have no desire to graze other than mealtimes.  I hope that this regiment lasts forever, its helps with the food management systems.

I do, however have a little bit of acid stomach...there is no pain per se, but rather a very very slight feeling inside that something is no right, once I take an ant-acid, it clears up fine for several hours, so this is what it is.  I am hoping that this little 'off' feeling will finally go away after a while.  My sister in law had VSG a few months ago, and it went away eventually.

I do feel better, I do have more energy and I do have a better outlook on life knowing that I am changing for the better.

I would recommend the VSG for anyone who is intrested in taking control of the fat monster.  It can change and save your life for sure.  It did mine, I am sure.
