Hey yall! This is just me...Jennifer!
Where to start? I am 27 years old. I currently live in the Metro Atlanta area. My journey (aka struggle) began at an early age. I can recall many young memories where my weight restricted me or caused me pain. I was ALWAYS the biggest child in class, I was ALWAYS the child that was made fun of, I ALWAYS hated school and the students I went to school with. I can remember when I was in 3rd grade, we had a physical evaluation where our physical education teacher came into the classroom with a scale and called each of us to the front of the class. We were to step on the scale and I can remember being terrified to be called. I went to the front of the class and stepped on the dreaded scale. He was so appaled at my weight he couldn't help himself but to announce "ONE HUNDRED AND FOURTY POUNDS?!?!?!?!?!?!"  Noone elses weight was announced! A few years later when I was 12 years old, I had to have surgery on my ankle which fused three bones in my foot together. At the pre-op to my surgery I weighed a hefty 199 pounds. At 15 years old, I had reached 330 pounds. Between 17-22 years old, I stayed around 270-300 pounds. But when I got pregnant with my second child at age 23, I had several complications and between pregnancy and afterwards I would fluctuate between 350-400 pounds. In March 2009, I fell and broke my leg from my knee to my ankle...I now have a metal rod and screws from my knee down. I am permanently disabled but I am ready to change all that. I am on a journey to take back control of my life.
This journey is not a selfish one, but very much so one to allow a better quality of life.
I am looking for friends who can help me through this whole process.
Looking forward to what my second chance at life holds for me...
