6-26-04 Okay.... so now I know why people don't update as often as I would have liked them to when I was pre-op. It's because your life gets full.....FAST!!! I left my less than supportive insignficant other and moved with my dog to a lovely 2nd floor apartment with a balcony facing a woods with a stream in it. I walk my dog 3-4 times a day. I still need to get my butt to the gym across the street. I have been on a plateau for about a month now. Things have been shifting around but no poundage is dropping. I have gone from a size 34 TIGHT!! in pants to a 22 loose... soon to be size 20 in pants. bra size is down from 54-DD to right now a 42-DDD. Yes girls in relation to my band size, my inches at the fullest point is actually 1-1/2 inches bigger... thus the need for a bigger cup size. Guys look away... this is not going to be pretty... I HATE ... yes I said HATE!!!! having a bigger cup size. A bra never stays put where it belongs. It always rides up,even with underwire. The darn things bug the hell outta me. I can't wait till I'm ready for plastic surgery and can tell the wizard to take em down a couple notches!! Oh yes... and I know some of you are wondering.... Yes.. it is partly because of my weight loss that I broke up with my insignificant other. He was bringing me home ice cream and cake and dishing it up for me. Total non support and sabotage... Listen ladies and gents... all you who have a spouse etc who does not support you getting healthy..... DUMP THEM AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!!! save yourself. Life gets GREAT after them!!!

3-28-04 Things are going slower than I would like and I have to keep reminding myself I am down 74# and off a lot of medication. I can walk several miles now where before a hundred feet was tough. I feel great. I think I just need to kick the physical activity up a notch to make a bigger difference.

02-15-04 I am doing great! I am back at the gym. Full of energy. Can walk a long ways. Thinking about joining the YMCA for the pool and the equipment they have there. It's a bit slow going with the weight loss but I was having trou7ble with my knees. Could not take the arthritis medication for the 1st 3 mo post op. Doc now says it's okay and that has made a BIG difference in how I feel. My knees are much happier and I can do more now. things should move along nicely now.

12-13-03 Wow!! I am very excited. Before surgery (a month ago today) I could not walk 100 feet without wheezing and major pain in my back and knees. Today I am 37# lighter than my highest weight and 31# lighter than the day of surgery. Well... today I walked 3/4 of a mile!! I only started to get a little pain in my back at the end just before I got back to the car. No wheezing either!! Wow!!! I am pumped!!! This is a HUGE leap for me. I also ordered some serious walking shoes today to help make sure I stay without pain.

12-12-03 Well, here I am 4 weeks out from surgery and I today officially got my 1st real BURST of energy!! Yay!! I bounced on my rebounder for a while and cleaned house a bit. My BMI no longer is officially "Super Obese" now I'm only "Morbidly Obese" but yanno I still feel like doing a happy dance. Think I will. Gotta go I have dancin' to do....... ;-)

11-25-03 Post-op!! Surgery went well. Slowly healing. Doing a bit more each day. I feel like I have a little construction crew in my belly that is on a break and when I eat some protien the foreman stands up with his megaphone and yells. " All right boys! The material is here! Back to work! Shut her down! " and off to sleep I go! That is getting better every day too. The 1st few days I was losing time it seemed and had not even realised I'd been asleep. I could be watching something on TV and the next thing I knew it was a different show and 3 hours later.

10-17-03 I have a date!!! November 13, 2003 is my scheduled surgery/re-birthday. I have so much to do! That is less than 4 weeks away!

9-13-03 Well, I only have one test left. The stress test coming up in 5 days. That is it! Then I should get my surgery date. I went last night for my second sleep lab and had a cpap machine on me, I can say that I did feel the difference in that once night. The technician would not tell me anything. I have to wait for the Doctor to talk to me, but I'd guess I do have sleep apnea. My friends say I sound like wild animals at times when I am asleep. LOL! Lions and tigers and bears, Oh My! I can hardly wait to be a "Loser"!!

9-2-03 Had my first meeting with the Dr at the sleep lab. It's a really cool place. More like a bed and breakfast in the room. They were able to move my 2 sleeplabs up to this friday the 8th and the 12th which is next friday. This means that the Doctor will have all the results back from all the tests the latest the 26th of September. Then we can finally schedule the surgery! Yay! Things are moving along nicely.

8-18-03 I had a call today at work from Dr. Smoot's office. I've been APPROVED by my insurance company for surgery!! Wow!! I don't even have all my test results back yet. This is so awesome.

8-15-03 I had my consultation on the 8th. It went well and I am VERY impressed by the Doctor and his staff. I feel quite confident that this is the best thing for me and can hardly wait to have my testing done, get approved and get my date. I had a gallbladder ultrasound as there was a gallstone seen when I had my hysterectomy and now the Doctor will likely remove the gallbladder at the same time as the WLS, thus saving me an additional surgery later. I still need a sleep study, cardiologist consultation and lab tests on my blood. All are scheduled and Dr. Smoot should have everything back by the 1st week in October. It seems a long time away but it really is not.
Waiting is still not easy but it will be worth it. After meeting with Dr. Smoot I would not feel safer in anyone elses hands.

7-1-03 Well here I am, waiting impatiently for my consult. I know people have been waiting months and years for this. I have been doing some research on this since 1999 when Carnie Wilson had hers done. Now that I have made "my" decision to have 9it I wish I could just get it done NOW. I am not really good with waiting for anything. I have always been an instant gratification type of person. This is probably part of what had me get fat in the 1st place. Food can be a wonderful instant gratification.

6-15-03 I'm so ready for this. I want my life to expand again to include the things I used to do. Like walking for miles and bicycling.
