My story is simple. I couldn't live with the way I was, so I changed! I watched a co-worker lose a lot after the surgery, also another co-worker lost and looked great. So, I got insurance approval and had all the tests: look down your throat, up your butt, inside your head, and vampire your blood, urine, and any other body fluid they could get.

At check in for the hospital, I weighed 315 lbs., had diabetes type II, and was in a wheelchair. My surgery was uneventful (except for the staple gun breaking, then the backup broke also. The doctor finally got one that worked from the salesman who was in the hospital that day. I wish I could have heard what my Dr. said when the second one broke!) I was out of surgery in 6 hours!

I woke up in pain, but bearable with good drugs. I had to stay four days instead of three because of my Asthma. Going home was great! The hospital nurses were very poor, and I couldn't get the respitory therapist to show up at all. Finally, I called the head of the dept. on the hall phone for complaints. He showed up, gave me a treatment, and then I finally could breathe!

When I weighed in after two weeks, I had lost 22 lbs.!

Within a month I had lost 2 sizes; down from a size 5X to a 3X.  I went shopping every two months for pants and shirts. Every time I went to Dressbarn I was a size smaller! They cheered me on, too. I loved running into people who hadn't seen me in a while. They never recognized me! Come to think of it, I didn't recognize myself! I would catch a glimpse of myself in the reflection of a store window at the mall and wonder who the tall thin lady was?!!

The biggest WOWs were:

1. No more diabetes one month after surgery.

2. Hitting the Century Club!!

3. Getting whistled at by construction workers!!

4. Shopping in regular stores.

I haven't hit goal yet, but I believe that it will happen.I am losing again, after a plateau of almost a year. I think it's the walking. I would like to have a tummy tuck, but no $$.
