Hey! I cannot believe it is  6th Anniversary of the  Twin Towers Today. With all that has happened in the world- my life is such a small part.I wish everyone who has experienced loss from it, I send great strength to grow and heal. xox

As for me ~ Well, I am now almost 25mos post op!! And although I still have not hit my weight loss goal ~ my fitness is improving all the time!  I love challenging myself and taking it to the next level! I bought a mini trampoline and use it for urban rebounding..and bought a 21 speed bike! I have not ridden in years and first day- I rode 14 miles- next day I rode 10 miles- and the next day ~ I bought a new seat! HA HA  a little saddle sore - but I continued riding and ride everyday 30-60 mins, in addition to my gym workout and weight trainings. I am enjoying myself and what I can do, immensely.

I have also switched over to new vitamins- the ISOTRONIX brand. They are 90% absorbed by your body ~ and I take
Calcium Plus ~ Multitech with Iron ~ And Acai - Advanced Energy.  Plus I am also taking Prime- which increases your HGH levels ( human growth hormone) which helps to reverse aging in your body and increases your vitality! The weight workouts are helping to increase my lean body mass and reduce fat %.
Here is where to buy the ISOTONIX vitamins:

I am proud to say I have not gained back any of the weight-most postops are saying they have gained- at this point - and still feel very liberated- because I can do things I have not done in years. I am not drinking - or smoking - or anything addictive -I do love to have chocolate still- mostly around PMS time. I  do not drink caffeine ~ and do not eat bread 90% of the time..its hard having eggs without toast! :D I pretty much stick to a s/f lifestyle and love fruit..and try to eat more soy- like Zen based chips.. I am trying to become more self loving as I do still have some negative self imagery to overcome..and need to love & heal my inner soul. There are days when I think Im beautiful and days when I'm off- but everyone has them.

I am not looking my age nor am I acting it ~ I am  taking my journey to the next level and still loving it all.

MAY 16 2007

May 16, 2007

Well- I have been busy. I broke thru to Onderland only to go back up to 202. I went to Vegas for 10 days in April. I worked 3 days and the rest was vacation and I had  a ball- lost and won money- but I had a great time. One of pics is posted- I had mine taken with NASCAR driver Mike Waltrip  while working in LV. Man I would not mind living there- that I can say!  I watched what I ate and also did the "buffet" for dinner and breakfast a few times.. I filled my plate- ate some of everything- left food on the plates- ate protein first always-  even made room for dessert. I always made sure I had fruit at every meal and even took bananas & oranges back to my room. They had a whole "no sugar added' dessert table- it was CRAZY. Cheesecake, blondies, cookies. It was easy to partake. But let me tell you- after 3-4 meals like that- I got tired of it. I decided to let myself eat when I was hungry and went with it. I drank water always.I did walk all over the strip and hit as many hotels as I could. Man it was mad crazy. I walked from Margaritaville (by the Flamingo) all the way south to Mandalay Bay. Plus walking inside the MB was crazy-even to get to the pool- or to the convention site.. AND I DID IT ALL!! I was never out of breath and never tired. I always wanted to do more. I was so glad & thankful I had this surgery when I did- I was able to sightsee like I wanted and able to eat normally- without food issues- and know my limits. I did drink Margaritas and got lost in Margaritaville- was in the House of Blues- saw Ray Romano & Brad Garrett do their standup at Mirage- had a blast!
AND when I came home- I lost 5lbs! It  was a very needed vacation. Man it was great!!!

Saturday 5/12- Dr Garber sponsored his annual Dream Walk from Obesity- my 2nd time. I was there early with Donna Hope, Donna Maas and my friend Dawn. Donna- Dawn & I walked the  whole 3 miles- never out of breath- and I truly had a great time. They gave us TrimSpa water- which is GREAT by the way. I want to buy it and don't know where to get it. Every flavor was GREAT- and I am stuck on Propel-so if  imagine how good Trimspa water is!

Also- many people who are 21mos post op- I am hearing they are having issues with behavior and weight gains- eating wrong foods etc. Like I said- you monitor yourself. If you know your limits don't push them. The further away from surgery- your body tolerates sugar- but is that an excuse to go out and eat  everything with it? NO. Honestly- your body is great without it. Yes I do imbibe with small squares of Ghirradelli chocolate or chips (pms) ..but I also workout with a trainer 2x week and hit the gym .. and do aerobic exercise..STILL DOING IT! Just like I did before surgery and now afterwards- it is part of my lifestyle. I never did hit my goal weight- but Im 50 now. I am at the weight I was- 30yrs ago- and that would not be possible without WLS. Am I happy with my results? YES. Am I still a work in progress? YES.  Am I striving for an athletic type body? HELL YES.  AM I HAPPY? I am on that journey, somedays happier than others, but I am happy I had surgery, happy Ive maintained my weight loss & happy to be succeeding  where I never thought was possible.. and Im thankful to my trainer, who makes me laugh and teaches me more about my body & muscles.

This is your journey in life- make of it what you want- make it your own- and make it the BEST!

NEXT MONTH- I am going to Guadalupe with my friend & WLS twin - Nancy. YAY!!!

love, Donna

ONEDERLAND ! March 2007

Mar 02, 2007

Hey!  GREAT NEWS!   I lost 10lbs in 3weeks - from 2/7 to 2/28  AND I made 199 - ONEderland - on 2/28!  I am continuing with my aerobic activity and am doing 90-120mins a day- thats right- approx 2hrs! one is usually a class - then I add another 60mins of cardio with either  the elliptical trainer & bowflex treadclimber. A few nights ago- I did the TreadClimber for one hour- and burned 750cals! Tues night I think I burned 900 cals between the climber & elliptical without a class. I do weights 2-3x a week- but I also recognize that with all this leg work- I do the butt blaster- for my BUTT- and I can see the difference its making. My pants are getting bigger in the rear!

For anyone reading - who is 12+mos out and wants to know what Im doing- here it is:
~ water 64oz+ daily~ ( I never really stopped doing this)
~ exercise DAILY~ 2hrs cardio EVERDAY + weights
~ increased protein supplements ~ 40-60gms + my meals
~ Oatmeal everyday- it burns fat - Quaker weight control
~ Kashi Go Lean Rolls- these are 190cals/12g protein- I have these as snacks or post workout ~
~ ALL Vitamins everyday

Last Night I did an hour of Advanced Kickboxing+ 80 mins of combined cardio- on the elliptical trainer & bowflex treadclimber
and today I was 197!  I feel so great and my fitness is gettng better and better. I would be happy with a BMI of 25-28.  I know Im going to need Plastic Surgery. I hope I win the lottery soon!

Its amazing ~ this really is a tool~ that you can work regardless how far out you are as a postop.  By the time I'm done, I will be less than half my original weight. I hope to hit that goal by July (birthday) or August (surgiversary) . If I keep going at the rate I am- I should disappear by then!  LOL

18 Mos Anniversary!!

Feb 16, 2007

Hi ~  been a few months since I last updated!
I am now 18mos postop. I have lost 127lbs and maintained the loss, mostly through exercise.  I am 3lbs from breaking into Onderland- but when you consider I began at 325 and Im 203 and don't look a day over 35 (when Im 50) I am feeling GREAT!

My son has returned home and began his job as EMT on long island- so things are good with him. My friend Rick finalized his divorce . I have the biggest crush on him. Those are pics of him with his kids- they are a nutty bunch! LOL

As for me~ I began working out at a new gym and everyday since 2/6/07, & have been  hittng it hard, doing 60-90 mins of cardio+ weights . Im into taking classes now- this gyms gives 140 classes a week!  yesterday I did the Pump & Jump- which is jumping on a mini trampoline to certain moves-& then adding light weights. I had so MUCH FUN!! I've also done the Kickboxing & Aerobic classes.I laugh when I make mistakes- its ok! Im having fun with it!! I've also lost 6lbs since  2/6 . So anyone who says you can't lose weight past a certain point- is wrong. They just didnt want it bad enough. You can over dose on carbs or fattening foods- but catch yourself and stop once you hit 5lbs. I don't ever want to be 200 lbs again. Im not into Plus size clothes & glad that I can shop in Target for my new bathing suits.  I am going to  Vegas for 10 days in April and going to Guadalupe for a week in June. I am also in another Fashion Show next month- and I will model Dress Barn clothes & a real fur coat! :D
Life is good and I'm having fun- so should you!
