Two week post-op follow-up

Apr 14, 2009

Well, I had my two week follow-up yesterday with my surgeon.  I weighed 247, which is a 24 pound loss since my pre-op appointment.  That averages out to about 6 pounds a week.....I'm happy with that.  Especially since this past week I haven't really shown any loss on the scale.  I guess I'm in a stall and my body is trying to catch up.  Anyway, Dr. Lalor said I was right on target, where I should be since surgery.  I told him how I had been using the treadmill and varying the speed and incline to change it up a bit.  He was happy with that.  I asked about joining Curves and he said that would not be a problem as long as I wait a few more weeks to do abdominal exercises.  So far, I guess I am one of the lucky ones who hasn't had any problems. Thank God!!!  I don't have any trouble getting in the 32+ ounces of liquid that I was told to get in a day.  I saw the dietician also while I was there.  I was told I could start eating "mushie-soft" foods now.  I started that today and had a scrambled egg and 1 T of cream of wheat for breakfast.  And for lunch I had 1/2 cup of bean soup....although most of it was broth.  There was maybe 1 1/2 T of beans in it.  Breakfast and lunch was so much more satisfying today.  I made a protein shake this afternoon and am still working on it right now.  So far, so good for me and I pray that it continues.  I made speghetti for my family tonight.  I would love to have some because it smells sooo good.  But I guess I will have some chicken salad and some cooked cauliflower instead. Very small amounts, of course.   I have my 2 month follow-up appointment with my surgeon at the end of May.  Hopefully I can lose another 15-25 pounds by then.  Gonna try my best.
