I'm Pregnant!!!

I am soooo excited. Little did I know that when I went in for my 6 month follow up I was about 2 weeks pregnant. I am currently 10 weeks pregnant and due August 28. I am sooo happy!! I have been married for 7 1/2 years and been trying to get pregnant for about 5 of those. I have done several rounds of fertility treatments....all I had to do was drop 80 pounds. RNY is such a great thing!! I would do it again in a minute.

6 Months Post-Op

I had my 6 month post-op check up today. Dr. Wilson was very impressed by my progress. I think I have the best doctor ever!!! I love that he does not set a weight goal for his patients. He told me if I was happy at 162 with no more diabetes or infertility, then he was happy with the job he did. I have set a personal goal for myself:140. That puts me in a healthy BMI, but just barely, if I gain a pound or two I will be overweight again. I am wearing a size 10 and that was my goal size but 20 more pounds to go to my goal weight. Not bad going from a size 20 to a size 10 in 6 months!!! I am so happy with myself and I love seeing my body change from all the working out I do. I love that I have muscles you can SEE! I have never once regretted having this surgery done, it has saved my life. BTW, I started using a fertility monitor last month and guess what??? I ovulated!!!! I cried I was so happy, I didn't ovulate before and therefore couldn't get pregnant. Wish me luck when the time comes!!!!

Well here I am 4 1/2 months out and I have lost a total of 64 pounds!! It is amazing, I know. Sometimes it is hard to believe that I have lost that much. I am very aware that I would lose more if I would pay better attention to my eating habits. After discovering that nothing makes me sick, it has been hard to make good decisions. I do work out 3-5 days a week, 2 days with a personal trainer and one of those days is a kick boxing class. I try to run at least one day a week as I am training for a 5k that is next weekend. So far my best time has been 48 minutes!!! That is exciting for a fat girl who didn't like to run. I have noticed improvements in my marriage since I really like myself more these days and my husband is trying really hard to make sure I don't leave him (he is worried I will lose all the weight and go look for something better). I love him and would never go anywhere, hell, he loved me fat and has seen me at my worst....a true test of love. Anyway, life is so great and I am so happy with deciding to have this surgery done, I am learning to love myself, I never thought I would. If you are on the fence about the surgery....JUST DO IT!

Almost 12 Weeks Out!!!

So, I am below 200 now which was a BIG goal for me. The birth control really messes with your weight loss. I struggled at 201 for 14 days before I hit 200, then the patch came off and I lost 6 pounds in one week.....so I guess I will be positive and just look forward to the week off of birth control since that is when I will lose all the weight. I LOVE this tool!!! Have I mentioned that yet? I am also proud of myself and the self control I have when it comes to food. I also go to the gym 3-5 times a week and work out with a personal trainer twice a week. I am currently training to run a 5K at the end of October, wish me luck!!! So far on this journey I have lost 46 pounds, how exciting I am almost halfway to my goal.....now I need to start thinking about my halfway tattoo I want to treat myself with when I have lost 50 pounds! Life is wonderful. I feel sooooo good and have so much energy, I have never once regretted having this surgery done, it has given me my life back and my self confidence, I feel soooo good about myself. I love being a loser!!

7 Weeks Out!!

WooHoo life is great!!! I am so thankful I was able to have this procedure done. I am down 36 pounds from when I started this journey and fitting into 14/16. I haven't seen that since high school, well the 16 since high school...freshman year! Of course I can't wait to be under 200, but only 4 more pounds to go. I seem to be losing more inches than pounds, no complaints. I am eating well and getting in all my vitamins and liquids. I really enjoy grilled shrimp these days. And yeah, everyone is right when they say the sex gets better!!

Almost 3 weeks out!

I am so excited....I have NEVER lost weight before, what an amazing feeling. Since I started this whole thing in November, I have lost 25 pounds since I started and 15 since surgery!!! That is crazy. I haven't gone down any clothing sizes yet, except my bra.....I have lost several inches though! I am getting in all protein, liquids and vitamins with no trouble. And going to the gym 5 days a week!! WOOHOO!

4 Days Out!!!

Well surgery was Monday and I am doing fabulously!! I feel great have been walking, sipping and resting. I am ready to go to the gym and get on a treadmill!! I didn't think it would be this easy. My stomach is sore but that is all!!! I haven't had any type of pain medication since they took my morphine pump on Tuesday. I am sleeping great and happy to be doing this well this soon!!!! I can't wait to see what is in store for me!!! Thanks to everyone for thier support!!
Gripe about doctors office.

For some reason I feel the need to gripe about my doctors office this morning. Don't get me wrong, I love Dr. Wilson, Zoe, Carol and the front desk ladies, my problem lies with the people behind the scenes. First of all, the only time I have spoken with the "Great Connie" was when she called me when I was approved. I called and left her several messages and never once did she call me back, I ended up having to call Zoe to get my answers. My second problem is with the office manager. They have a sign that says if you pay 50.00 to see the nutritionist they won't file with your insurance, well I saw her 4 times and paid my 50.00 everytime. Lo and behold I started to get bills from the business office to pay what my insurance would not cover, so after speaking with the business office they said they needed the office manager to call them and fax over the statement about the 50.00. I have left message after message for the office manager and never got a call.....until the day I spoke to Zoe to find out what I would have to pay the doctor. That day the office manager got on the phone with me like I was his best friend and told me what I would have to pay the doctor, since I had him on the phone I took the opportunity to talk to him about him filing my nutritionist visits with insurance, he assured me he would take care of it. Guess what I got in the mail yesterday? Another bill from the business office wanting the remainder of what is owed on my nutritionist visits. Great, my surgery is in a week and they still have not fixed this problem....but that is okay, I have my Pre-Op on Wednesday and I will be taking the bill in and speaking to the office manager in person!!

It's Almost Here!

I only have 10 days until surgery and I am starting to freak out a little. I know I should be excited but I am a little scared and I think that is normal. I keep asking myself if I chose the right surgery. I still don't feel like I have everything ready to go and keep making list after list. I don't have an angel
yet either. I have a 4 day weekend coming up that ends with my Pre-Op appointment. I am worried about the 4 days alone with my thoughts....
Overwhelmed

I have a little over six weeks to go until surgery and I am starting to panic. I am a planner and I don't feel prepared!! Does everyone feel this way? I feel as if I don't have enough time to do everything I need and want to do. I have sample packs from Bariatric Advantage and someone else. I am very indecisive about vitamins and protiens and I don't know what I will like after the surgery. I don't like feeling this way!!!!! HELP!!!!!
