Well I made it through. The staff at Forest Health were wonderful. I am still in a lot of pain. I am on the losing end now. I got back to me presurgery weight today. I had gotten down to 250 before surgery an gained 10 lbs of water right after. I am having a hard time eating and drinking. I have no appetite. I look like I suffered the wrong end of a royal beat down. I am bruised from my chest down the prettiest purple & black. I have alot of gas pains still and I am so tired. I want some potato soup. Anyone have any good full liquid recipes. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

I want to thank everyone for you well wishes and encouragement. I am coming down to the wire now, surprisingly I am not quite as nervous as I was. I felt like I went through a mourning period for my former life so to speak. I got very depressed for a few days. I feel that this is more of a life changing step than my marriage, kids and careers. It took 1 year of research before I would even contact a doctor then 1 year of hassles before I could get it approved by my insurance company. I have to be at the hospital 7:30 Tuesday morning and my surgery is #2 so they say it should be around 9:30 am. My college professors have all been amazing, they have provided me with my work ahead of time so that I won't fall too far behind. And will let me catch up. Your support means more than I can express. Thank you.

Well here is my story. I started this journey over a year ago. I had Care Choices insurance and they were making me go to a surgeon that has only 150 RNY surgeries. I wasn't comfortable with that at all. After talking with Dr. Schram and the insurance gals at Forest Health and discussing my options my husband changed insurances at work. I was so comfortable with Dr. Schram. I submitted everything ( I had done all the testing with the other insurance), I was approved immediately. I had to wait for a surgery date until the new insurance actually took effect. I got the call for Sept. 5 and my heart just about came through my chest. OH MY GOD this could really happen..... Then I went to my pre surgery testing and now it is even more real. I am nervous to say the least. Excited anticipation too. Am I doing the right thing. My mind says yes I am and that this is just all nerves. I really appreciate the notes of support. I am going to a support group tonight too. I never had a weight problem until I was in my mid 20's and my thyroid quit working. It has been a battle ever since. Yo yo dieting, and never keeping off the pounds for more than a few months at a time. I am hopefull, I have dreams that I go through all of this follow the diet religiously and never loose an ounce. I have just over 2 weeks now and I have to increase my protein intake before surgery because my protein level is too low. So I have started on the suppliments. They aren't too bad. I am pleasantly surprised. So now i wait for Sept 5 and finding out what time I am scheduled for.
