"Dr. Thomas was great as was his nurse (also his wife) Jackie. He was very thorough and straight forward with his answer. He took the time to answer all of my questions and I did not feel rushed at all. Jackie was great as well answering all of my question. She seemed to know alot about the insurance process as well. He does not offer the LAP procedure and only does 2 open procedures a week. He said he has only performed about 75 of them. The rest of his time is spent doing other surgeries. He has been a surgeon for 20 years. I was hoping he would have more experience with the bypass procedure.
One of the things that could have been better though is Dr. Thomas's office staff. They were not friendly nor knowledgeable. The receptionist handed me a folder and said I should find some papers to fill out. When I asked her which papers, she said, I don't know, just look through the folder and see if there are some forms in there. I ended up not filling in the right one and had to complete it when I was in the exam room. The same lady told me a little later that she does not normally work in that office. (Then why have her handing out the papers???) - Anyway, if it was not for Jackie and Dr. Thomas being good - I would have left right away."
