Its been 11 wonderful years since RNY surgery.  I was 275 the day of surgery and this morning I weighed 140, that's 135 lbs gone forever.  Still can't eat more than 15 grams of sugar at one time, but I don't miss it at all, in fact sugar just doesn't taste that good at all.  I can eat most anything I want, so I don't feel deprived of anything.  It's wonderful to control food and it not control me.  I'm sure the surgery has progressed in the last 11 years, but I would do it over again the same way if I had to ( I had open RNY, not lap).  It was worth every painful moment.  Just hang in there if you just had surgery, it gets so much better.

Yep 10 years & I have maintained my weight. Hard to believe. The surgery really works.If you are thinking about the surgery, don't think twice. Just do it, you will never be sorry. Go for it!

Come Jan 9, 2010, it will be 8 yrs. I cant describe what a wonderful trip it has been and cant believe its been that long. I can still remember the day of surgery like it was yesterday. The excitement of waking up a totally new person with a wonderful future to look forward to. I havent been disappointed one bit along that journey even with the occasional dumping, giving up loved foods, and best of all throwing away BIG BAGGY Loved clothes. Im at the peak of my health and now enjoy the tasty sugarfree products on the market and baked & broiled foods. And the skinny clothes I wear, oh my. I cant say enough about ObesityHelp.com, you have been a life saver. Many thanks to God along my journey for His helping hands. So march on WLS members and members to be - life is GRAND.

Can't believe its been 7 yrs. I am still doing great and keeping the weight off. It is wonderful. Still cannot eat sugar or fried foods and don't miss them one bit. WLS is the best thing that ever happened to me. I can still remember it like it was yesterday and the memories are all good, even the day after surgery when I didn't feel so great...was great!
