I'm 6 days post op and this is the first time at the computer. I cannot say enough to thank everyone for the support and words of kindness. I don't know how anyone could go through this alone at the hospital... if my angel Sheila and my boyfriend John had not been there, I'm not sure how I could have possibly made it. On my second day I was switched from the epidural to a PCA but it took forever to get the machine. I was in horrible pain, sweating profusely and couldn't even open my eyes. Sheila and John bathed me in ice and kicked some butt trying to get me hooked up to the PCA. The hospital had the orders but had to wait for the machine to come from a warehouse!!This was the longest wait of my life. When it finally came, it was 10 hours later before the pain was under control. Thank God for my friends! I'm having some very minor problems with chills and little sleep but no nausea!

~~ANGEL UPDATE~~ Saturday was a long day. Yvonne had alot of pain mainly because they let her go too long without pain meds. She finally eased up around 2:00 Sunday morning. She was running a low grade fever and had some swelling in her hands. She was much better Sunday and was up and walking, slowly but surely. She is possibly going home today but it might be tomorrow. I asked her if it was worth it and she said it was. I'll be back when I know more. Yvonne's angel, Sheila

Well, Yvonne Burns is on the OTHER SIDE! She had her surgery today and came through it like a champ. Her Doctor said that there are good surgeries and superb surgeries and hers was superb! What a relief. Her spirits were very high this morning. She was just so ready. She went in around 11:00 and I guess it took about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. She went into a room around 4:00 and looked great. She had some pain but they gave her some happy juice and she eased up some and seemed much better. She's really enjoying her ice chips. Her boyfriend John hasn't left the hospital all day and has not left her side when he's been able to be with her. I know Yvonne appreciates the support she has received here. I hope you all will drop by her page to wish her well. She's just an amazing gal and she wanted this more than anything. I'm so proud of her! I will give another update after I see her tomorrow. Yvonne's angel, Sheila (What an honor!)

Yvonne, I am so excited for you! You are and have always been such an inspiration to me. I knew you when you were 120 lbs and I know you now, and you have always been the most beautiful person I have ever known. Not to mention the most talented. We've grown up together, been beautiful together, gained weight together and aged together. I am here for you just as you have always been there for me. You are my once in a lifetime friend. I really don't know what I would have done without you. I hope you know how very much I love you! I want you to be a part of my life forever. I support you in this all the way because I know how much you want it and I know you are strong enough to get through this. I'll see you in the morning, like it or not. With all my heart . . . I love you, Sheila
