3-30-03 WOW Susan, I just read your post and wanted to congratulate you on your engagement and being 5 years post-op. Please add some pictures if you have time. There aren't many posties that are 5 years out that still participate. Thanks for sharing.

Susan - I just read your post. I am having surgery tomorrow. I live in Phoenix and have some great support people here. I weigh 365. I hope I can do as well as you have. I also have never been married and I don't even think about some man ever wanting to marry me. I stop dreaming about that years ago. I am happy that your life has turned out so well. You can keep in contact with me since I live in Phoenix too, if you want. Maybe you could think of me tomorrow morning. I am having surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital at 6:30 a.m. with a Dr Steven Simon, lap RNY. I am scared today, have not been sleeping well at all. Well thanks for listening to me vent. Dana in Phoenix.

Thanks for the well wishes. I almost forgot that yesterday was 4 years. It seems like yesterday. Still wouldnt change anything for the world. I have experienced some weight gain over the past year and was quite scared. Not to hard to gain if your eating pretzels and jelly beans. Even if your stomach is small, if you put junk in it you will regain. I have since lost 13 of the 20lbs I gained, which freaked me out. I am exercising on a regular basis which I wasent doing before. I do suggest have a routine. I guess you learn from your mistakes. I think we have to remember, this surgery is a tool, not a end all. I need to remember that I have to watch what I eat at all times. I think I learned my lesson. Still wear a size 10 and would actually like to loose more then I had gained. If not, I know I am comfortable at the end weight. More then anything, its fun being small...................
