I just got off the phone talking with Terri. I couldn't stand not knowing how she was getting along so made a call. She says she is feeling much better and hopefully will be able to get home today. She said she will update this page when she is able. She couldn't comment enough on what a wonderful doctor Dr. O'brien is. Her spirits sound up and lets continue to pray for a speedy recovery and good health for her and her family. (((((hugs)))) sheila ollerich

Terri: I'm glad I finally found news about you! I have been so worried about you. I gave up checking your surgery page because I thought you must be home by now, but have been checking the message board faithfully and saw nothing about you. Tonight I decided to try the surgery page again, and lo and behold! I find that you are still in the hospital, or were as of a few days ago. Hang in there, Terri. It is difficult, I'm sure, and there must have been more complications. You know that I have the same surgery coming up in just a little more than a week now. I know you're worried, too, about not being there right now for your husband and sons -- but you WILL be, and that is what counts. God is watching over you and all will turn out OK in the days that follow. Keep your chin up, and get well soon. I'll be watching your surgery page from now on, to see how you are progressing.

Terri, I hope your finally on the mend. I have the same surgen and this is really scaring me. Do you think he screwed up or was it just something that happened? He seems so caring. I know were all differnt and it doesnt mean the same thing will happen to me but it scares me. I just hop by the time you read this your up and about and on your way home. Maybe the rest will be smooth sailing. Remember everything happens for a reason and something good will come of it in the end. Keep the faith.

Oh Terri, I'm so sorry you have to go through this. I knew something was terribly wrong when I didn't hear anything from you and your husband. You have to keep strong and keep the faith for yourself and those two precious little ones at home. I'm sure they miss you but just think about all the strength you will have when this ordeal is over. Spring is just around the corner and think about how wonderful you will look this summer in all those skinny clothes. Hang in there. May God bless your family and give you a speedy recovery. You are all in my prayers.

I just wanted to send my prayers out to you and your family. Sometimes, God just gives us more of a reason to look toward ourselves and more time to take care of ourselves. Just hang in there girl! The time may seem like an eternity, but this too shall pass. You will soon be home and on your way to a happier and healthier life. Bless your loving husband for all that he has done to keep things running smoothly and keeping us all up to date on your hospital stay. Some of us are truely blessed to have such extraordinary men in our lives. Bless those two precious angels waiting patiently at home for Mommy. They will also reep the benefits of your surgery in the months to come. They will be enthralled with Mommy's energy and zest. And bless your dear heart Terri. You've found the strength to put yourself first. And for us wives and mothers, it's a difficult task unto itself. WE are the caretakers and put all others before us. But it is when we put ourselves and our happiness first, that we truely bless those close to us. I wish you a speedy recovery with lots of love and many prayers along the way.

Hello again from Gary; Terri is still in the hospital and will probally be for at least till I do not know when!!!! She had a cat scan this afternoon, it showed some fluild in the stomach and lung area.(Ugh!!)Tommorow she goes in to the cat scan to have this drained. She is not looking foward to this. This sure has been a troubling whole deal, but just in the hospital there are my co-workers whom have had this same surgery, and look just great...Its hard to keep Terri's spirits up and that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Must be that post surgery depression thing, I hope this passes. It does make a big difference that all your support really lifts her! I really do thank you all. I am sorry I can't get back individeully to each of you all, I wish I could but I dont have much time with takeing care of two boys and house and a busy job and ect ect ect!!! I'll try to keep these updates going when I can, and terri looks foward to getting back home and getting back to all of you .... I'll print these replys and bring this to Terri. She really does like the encouragement. Thanks again. Gary

2/16/01 Terri...hope you are feeling much better. I had my surgery on the 12th and at 1pm on the 13th we had surgery again! Dr. O'Brien is really protective isn't he. Thank God for that kind of a man that will care enough to work extra hard. All was okay with me and I got out on the 16th. I wished I would have known that you were there then. Just remember, we are not alone, we're doing this together...Joan

Terri: I read your angel report last night from Gary and saw that Dr. O'Brien had to go back in. Lucky the infection was caught so quickly. The healing time and hospital time might be a little longer, but still, everything will be fine, and the results will be the same. Lucky you have an "angel" hubby there helping you out, too. I will be gone most of the weekend, but will check the postings later tonight, and then on Sunday night. I sent you an e-mail at Sioux Valley, so you probably got that already, if you are feeling well enough to read it! Complications are something we all hate to think about, but we know they can happen to anyone. If it wasn't so cold, I'd be tempted to stop up at Sioux Valley and visit you for a few minutes. However, you probably aren't feeling very well yet today, and I'll be gone all weekend. You will probably get out of the hospital on Monday? Hang in there, Terri. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Get well soon!
