I found a Wii and 14 games 3 controllers, fit board 2 guitars, DJ hero board and drum set for $300. I am all about the Wii fit. I just did like 30min and broke a sweat and it was fun. I think for people that do not get out much and just starting Wii fit might just be for you. I am 275lb and the board holds me just fine. 

I am eating everything. I feel like it is my hooray days of freedom. I need to stop. But i go to the dietitian on the 14th. On with the 3 months supervised diet.

 So Tuesday August 10,2010, my fiacne' and I both went to St. Luke's Center for Surgical Weight Loss. I was so excited.
It was nice seeing Sandy again. But the big thing for me was getting on the special scale. I got my little receipt with all my number....so my official pre surgery weigh is 275 with a BMI of 44.4 my fat mass is 46.7%. these numbers are very in your face. 

Umm..what else...I got my "shopping list" of things from Sandy...that I have to do before hand. 

I have had wonky blood pressure..so on Thursday I start a new med for that..along with my water pill and my BC to control my girl parts that do not want to "bleed" properly.

oh funny question...my fiance; asked with a straight face and much concern..Dr. Sorsensen, what will happen to her butt? I could have laughed. All the Dr Sorsensen said "I don't know"..LOL..when i get home and talk to my daughter she was like I feel his pain and asked " What should I sit on when i get a piggy back ride." My family only is concerned about my butt.

In general all I can say is full speed ahead..if all goes correctly I should be under the knife in 4-6 months. 

 I know I am far off from the actual surgery. I am still in the early part of meeting my doctor..that happens tomorrow at 1:45pm and for some reason I just got nervous.  I think it is an excited nervous but none the less it is still there. 

I am also kinda of said..i had lost 16lbs on my own..so that was 290-16= 274
The other day I took my daughter to the clinic and weighed in cause they have the nice heave duty scale..and it said i weighed  281....so i gained back a few pounds..7 to be exact..not many...but still...it is a gain..i feel that is going the wrong way. 

Well i think this is all i have for tonight...I will update again tomorrow after my appointment..

 This will be ongoing. But this is what I have learned about medicare so far.
as of 7/14/2010 you have to have or had these things
1) BMI of 35+ 2)1 weight illness like diabetes or hypertension/high blood pressure.
3) Unsuccessful with medical treatment(did not say how long)
4) Approve Facility

5) Will cover the band or gastric bypass

Coverage Hospital Part A will have a deductible of $1100
Medical Part B is 80%/20% with the 20% coming from me. 
(Maybe I need a secondary)

So I called my local Medicaid office too. 

This is what I found out...

NOTHING!! ha ha...

the guy would not give me any information on pre-qualifier. 

But he did say this. 

1. Meet my spend down of $100 dollars. Meaning that I can pay that out of pocket or send them a money order for that amount.

2. The Doctor and hospital should bill Medicare first and then send Medicaid the reminder. 

3. He said GOOD LUCK 


So stay tuned and lets see how all this will play out. 
 

 It was a very good seminar, I like Dr. Sorensen. He was well versed in what he was doing and had great training. My mother even felt comfortable with my choice to precede. Sandy his nurse that was with him, who also had WLS was so delightful. I know I am choosing a good place. 


So I have filled the packet that was giving to me out and called Medicare to see what I would need to do.

Here is Medicare's list

1) BMI 35+
2) 1illness like diabetes or hypertension < I have had high blood pressure since April mater of fact on a water pill now>
3) Unsuccessful with medical treatment
4) Approve Facility
5) Have a lap band or Gastric Bypass < I do not like the idea of a band so I am going for a bypass>

So the leg work begins. I am gonna try and get past weights and all kinds of good stuff..HEALTHY LIVING HERE I COME...FULL SPEED AHEAD!!
