Question:
RIVISION FROM STAPLING TO RNY

I have jumped threw all the hoops asked of me in order to have the RNY done. This is what I face now.I have been told I have to have a Barium Swallow test with the mini marshmallow. If I pass....They will do the RNY. If I don't they won't. I, already, know I will fail. I had that test last year because of swallowing problems. The marshmallow just sat there in the opening to the stomach. You can watch yourself swallow it on a screen. Why won't it go through? Because the ring they put in for the stapling had dislodged itself and is tilted, therefore it hinders me from getting food down without liquid.I'm told you cannot drink liquid with what ever you eat. Liquid 1/2 hour before or 1/2 hour after. Please, if there is anyone out there who has had the same problem...contact me by email. I have come so far for so long...There is no light at the end of my tunnel, now.    — SANDI S. (posted on October 11, 2000)

I have experienced the same difficulty, except I'm allergic to my band. I would definately be interested in talking to you about how you've resolved it. I'm going to have a revision. Please email me at [email protected]
