It depends on your surgeon's plan. I am two weeks out and confident that I'd be able to eat soft foods, but alas... My surgeon's plan is full liquids for three weeks.

Whats your plan say? I had to drink 4 oz of shake every hour for 4 hours as a condition to be discharged.

It's typically the main source of nutrition for the first few weeks post-op. What did your doctor tell you to eat immediately post-op?

Protein shakes are not clear liquids. If you feel that you can progress earlier than your plan allows, call your doc or nutritionist and ask if it's okay.
