Losing a few pounds can really make a difference.....

May 13, 2009

Working out is getting a lot easier since the weight has coming off, that's kinda obvious, I know.
This past monday night, we had our departmental SCBA (airpack) recert drill. This is something done every year. Last year it was very painful going thru the first evolution, which is crawling on hands and knees thru out a concrete floored building, with smoke and an air pack, obviously. My knees were screaming and my back was sore from being bent over, get ur mind out of the gutter. Didn't even want to think about the second evolution. Pretty bad, huh.
I wasn't really looking forward to the pain this year. To my surprise there wasn't hardly any at all. I crawed thru faster than last year and used a lot less air than last year.  The second evolution was ok too, no pain in the back or knees,  just tired and sweaty, could have done more but we ran out of time.
I plan riding more with the bike than walking. The othro dr said no high impact areobic exercises. I may have a damged tendon in the back of my foot. MRI scheduled for next week, so no tread mill for me, just that F&^%ing Eliptical machine. I hate that thing, makes shudder everytime I think about it. whoever invented it should be shot.
