James Weber

"I went to his seminar (2/14/05) that he requires of all pre-op patients. I was completely impressed with him and his experience. I like the fact that his 'program' (it's not just a surgery) is individualized and you are expected to follow the program if you expect to succeed. In this seminar he explains everything about the procedure, how it's done, how his program works. He is emphatic about aftercare and encourages his patients to keep in very close contact with him even if you move out of the area (even years later) and will work with you if things don't seem to be going right. He is 'the grandfather' in this field and is writing a book on the subject. He has only lost 7 out of over 2700 surgeries and none of these were on the table. That is excellent odds to me!! It is kind of a wait to get in to see him, though (1-1/2 months) but he is very highly sought after. It will be worth the wait. I will post more after I see him in his office. 4/1/05 I had my visit with Dr. Weber today and I honestly do not have anything negative to say about him. He worked with me and my timing issue with the surgery, he actually took the copy of my questions and went through them all and answered every single one. He wanted to meet my husband and children who were in the waiting room waiting for me. He was just absolutely amazing. I'll post more post-op and let you know!"

"There was a loud patient on my floor that was kind of disturbing, but there was nothing they could do about that. Most of the nursing staff was very, very good and helpful. One nurse, Jane, was bad about telling me she'd be "right there" only to have her finally come for something an hour or more later. This especially happened the last day in the hospital. She kept telling me she'd be 'right there' to let me go, or get things together or whatever. Well, finally another nurse came in and asked me when I wanted to leave and I told him "In a half-an-hour" and he said, "Okay!" and sure enough I was gone in 1/2 hour!! You do have to pay for parking if you park in the garage across the street. I think they should have a free lot for the hospital, but what can I do?? Overall a very good experience here. I would use the hospital again if the need arose and would recommend the hospital to other patients."

"I was actually seeing another counselor before I went to Dr. Celio for my psych. consult required by my surgeon. I have chosen to continue care with Dr. Celio after surgery as I think he is extremely competent, genuinely caring, and an excellent counselor."
