I am so happy to be here.
I have struggled with my weight all of my life. I have always been a "big girl". When I was 175 pound at age 12 and I competed in a gymnastics tournament. . I was between 200-220 pounds as a teen and young adult. Most people didn't consider me really fat until i was in my 30s.

After my second divorce I was a 33 years old single parent with three children and weighed about 270, I went on an Ephedra and Starbucks black coffee diet. My mantra was "do everything" because I had a crazy amount of energy. I worked, did Tae-Bo twice a day, took the children to the park, cooked and went grocery shopping after dinner. By the time I was down to 235 pounds, I was diagnosed with chronic hypertension. It runs in my family but my mother wasn't diagnosed until she was in her sixties. My doctor attributed mine to the use of ephedra. I had to start taking daily medication for my blood pressure.  Another marriage and divorced helped me to reach 300 pounds. I couldn't believe it.  I lost 50 pound under a doctor's supervision and kept it off for about a year.

I got married again! My weight was creeping up  by the time I got pregnant last year.  I gave birth to my bouncing baby boy on March 18, 2007. I am still nursing him so I probably won't be able to have the surgery until next summer. I am hovering around 285 pounds these days. My journey to here has been long and eventful but I am 41 years old, blessed with a wonderful husband (finally) and four fantastic children to support me through this journey.
