2 Months out and feeling better

Jul 01, 2009

Well, I am 2 months out now. I have lost 15lbs this month. I went from 262, to 256 the date of surgery, to 232 after 1 month, and now 217 at the 2 month mark. I am on my period and hoping that I am bloated and up a pound or two, LOL. 15 pounds gone in a month is nice, but I wish it was more. I know- greedy thinking. I am so anxious to be "THIN". Who isn't? I feel a lot thinner. I can see a difference. I have lost 45lbs total since pre-op, and it shows. I see it in my face, in my stomach, and in my legs a lot. My clothes are falling off and my wedding rings are sliding off my fingers (not always a good thing).

I am still having a hard time tolerating foods, but I am doing better. Guacamole has become my friend along with plain avacado. I can really enjoy it because it does not make me sick, it is soft enough to chew and swallow, and it taste great. I still cannot tolerate dairy (including milk & eggs), meat, most carbs, and anything that is heavy like thick creamy soups or sauces are totally out of the question. I tend to stick to soups which are not the greatest, but it is what I tolerate best. Even chicken that is soft boiled will make me sick. I find that I have to take stool softeners to keep things going because if I get backed up I get bad chest pains and can't function. I am able to handle water better these days, and I drink mostly water, unsweet ice tea (w/o splenda or any sweetener), and sometimes gatorade. Breakfast is usually a protein shake or grits, lunch is usually soup (drained to elminate the broth), dinner is usually whatever I cook but in VERY small amounts. I still think I am getting less than 300 calories a day. I am buying a jogging stroller today so I can go walking more with the kids, if I can beat this 109* weather!

Overall, this month has been a big stepping stone for me. In the last two weeks I have really been tolerating more and getting sick less. I can eat a few more bites than I could before. I handle salads really well and really enjoy them lately. I can eat a small salad w/o a problem. Since I can drink water w/o a problem, I have been able to drink lots of water and keep my fluids up. So I have come a long way since last month. Things are finally getting better. I have fewer "regret" days and more "happy" days. I still check the scale daily which is horrible, but it keeps me on track and I enjoy the progress. I lose about a pound a day for a few days, then I might stay the same or go up a pound for a day or two, then I lose a pound a day for a few days, then I go up or stay the same for a day or two, etc. Overall, I am happy and I cannot wait to get below 200 next month! That is my goal. To end my 3rd month in ONEderland!!!!!!!! That will be a victorious day for me.
