Back on Track!

Jun 03, 2012

Started the 5 day pouch test yesterday, day 2 over, and day 3 all prepared and ready to go.  I really got out of control witht he Carbs, and sliders, so back on track.  I can't let all this hard work to get healthy go away.  I am so thankful for the 5 day pouch test, it really does work to get you back on the right road.  I really do have a pouch that is small, and my hunger was head hunger.  I can't wait to see the scale move again in the right direction.   I am back on my nutrition tracker too, it really does feel good be back.

Get back on track TODAY!!!

Sep 15, 2011

Mad at self, I have gotten off track and now the scale is my enemy again, I am obsessed with weighing in each day and to see 1 lb after another creeping back on.  I only have about 6 weeks till I hit my 2 year anniversary and I never reached goal.  I just bought  The 5 day pouch test book, and starting today I am getting back on track.  I just have to get over the self hate and depression that I have gained back over 12lbs.  This sucks, and it wasn't what I wanted.  But I am the one to blame, I seem to graize on stupid things.  I have even found I tolerate sugar, and I swore I'd never try sugar again, but here I am loving those little Halloween size candies that are in my office tempting me every time I walk by the candy dish.  I go to the gym 4 times a week, and actually started running on the treadmill so I am not being inactive which is another reason I am so disgusted with myself.  I will start recording my food intake again, and get on this website every day for inspiration and support.  HELP!

Unbelievable!

Nov 17, 2010

WEIGHT GAIN????  I started working out more and now I gained 7lbs.  I know...I know...look how far I have come, but not even 13 months out and I start gaining?  Just venting, and wishing the scale wasn't my enemy still.

1 year and 14 days

Nov 11, 2010

Hard to believe it's been a year since my surgery.  I am down 106lbs, I feel great and am so glad I had this life changing surgery.  I recommend it to anyone who is thinking of WLS.  I wish I had done it earlier in my life to enjoy healthy fit feelings when I was younger.   I am 25lbs from goal and though it is slowed to a stop, I am still not regretting any decisions I made.  Just started working out with a PT and his encouragement is very helpful.  I have to look at old pictures from a year ago when I get down about the scale not moving.   I can eat more things now, so I have to be careful on my choices.  I will continue to stay connected to this website as it has been a big support system for me so far on my journey.

Get real!

Sep 29, 2010

Now closing in on my 1 year surgeriversary, and frustrated that my weight has slowed to a stop again.  I have to get real and know how far I have come in one year.  I am no longer on any medications, cleared of all co-morbidities, wearing a size 14 and even a 12 in some clothes and feeling and looking younger.  The reality is I can't be frustrated at my body catching up to this 99lb weight loss.  Yes I wanted to be at a goal of 150 by my year anniversary, but I am 168 and really not far from that goal.  I have to stay positive and push forward with that healthy attitude.  I am looking into a personal trainer, so firming up the loss is my goal now.  Still so thankful and happy that I had this surgery, and that my life style has changed to a healthier and happier me.

The scale moved!!

Aug 21, 2010

After almost a month of the same weight (up .5 down .5) the scaled moved 2lbs.  This plateau was a tough one.  I did increase my protein, and started eating more veggies and fruit (fresh).  Stopped eating my lite applesauce and switched to peaches, or grapes.  Who knows, but it moved!!

9 months and a loooonnnnnng plateau

Aug 02, 2010

I hit 95lbs loss, then the scale has stopped moving, going on 3 weeks at the same weight.  Just discouraged, but still thrilled at 95lbs gone.  I am still consuming 900 or so calories, drinking fluids, and taking my protein...so is it exercise??? Ok, so I will have to get into some structured excercise program the walking isn't doing it.  I thought I could eat 1000 calories and still loose weight but not true.  I am maintaining quite well.  I get this question all the time from people asking me about my journey, and they always ask, "so when will you stop loosing"  "what if you can't stop loosing"   well, I guess your body can adjust at 9 months and stop loosing is my answer right now.  I wanted to achieve my next big goal of 100lbs but it just won't move!!!.

87lbs size 26 to 14

Jun 03, 2010

On my approaching 6 month check up I am proud to say I have lost 87lbs and have gone from size 26 to 14.  It has slowed down tremendously, and I know I need to keep up the protein and increase excersise to get it moving again.  I am just so happy with my results and the wonderful WOW moments I have been experiencing.

6 months...1/2 a year...life changing

Apr 28, 2010

It has been 6 months since my surgery and I am down 81lbs.  I am not taking High blood pressure meds, my diabetes is in check and no more meds, and my arthiritis in the knees is gone.  My only food issue is with eggs.  They don't taste good, and they don't go down no matter how I cook them.  I have been vigilant taking protein, and vitamins including multi, biotin, and B12.  I have only had slight hair loss.  I have gone from size 24 to size 16 so far.  I have noticed a big slow down and hit a lot of plateaus.  Sometimes I will drop and regain a couple of pounds and therefore stay at the same weight for weeks at a time.  That is frustrating, but then I know I can kick up the loss by doing more excercise.  I find that getting my full amount of liquids in is still a challenge.  Some of my 6 month WOW moments are:

*Crossing my legs
*Buying clothes off the rack
*Seeing my shadow and being surprised how small it has become
*Seat belt in the airplane buckles with room, and the tray table isn't hitting my belly anymore
*Skiing all day without getting leg cramps and not having to stop in between runs
* Friends I haven't seen in 6 months being blown away at my new younger, thinner look

Back to work

Dec 14, 2009

Down 42lbs and back to work this week.  Some adjustments on how to eat as the time it takes me to get through a meal doesn't match my work schedule so I will have to figure ways to get the meals in (maybe eat at my desk without getting caught).  I may have to use protein drinks instead of meals at work.  All in all things are great, only one issue where food got stuck and I had severe pain for about 2 hours.  Chicken breast was a little dry I guess.  Still thrilled that I am completely off my High Blood Pressure and diabetic meds.  This surgery was the best thing I ever did for myself.
