Pre-Admission at Humber River Hospital (Wilson site)

Nov 11, 2015

So i went to the hospital yesterday for my Pre-Admission at 12:30. I knew I would be there for a couple hours but didn't expect to be there for 4. lol. Oh well, the form does say to expect to be there 2-4 hours.  I went in and registered. I was told that the bloodwork wasn't yet filled out so that I needed to wait til I saw the nurse and she'd fill out the bloodwork that I would need to do.  Eeek, I waited til 2pm. The nurse was very nice but seemed a little confused (like it was her first day). She looked at all my medication and vitamins and put them into the computer. After I got my bloodwork done (only needed 1 tube), than I saw the medicial consult. I guess they were worried because I have a slight heart murmur and high blood pressure but I passed and next saw the Anesthesiologist. She asked me a few questions and told me not to drink or eat after midnight the night before surgery. I didn't have any chest x-rays or ultrasounds. I had a pretty easy time at this appoinment except for the length of time it took :)  I was all done at 4:30pm

The new hospital is very big.  We were confused on where to park too but now we know to park in the west parking lot.  Also, my parents, who came with me ate at the little coffee shop across from pre-surgery and got stale food.  We noticed the Tim Hortons at the end of the hall when we were leaving. They'll be happy next time to know where to eat while waiting for me. lol

Surgery set for November 23rd at 10am.  But I have to be there at 8am.  I'm so ready fro this!!!!
