My story is hardly unique. I began to gain weight when I was about 15 or 16. This was a very difficult time for me as my Mother was dying of cancer and passed away Christmas 1976, a reason not an excuse. I have always enjoyed my life and never allowed my weight to get in the way or prevent me fro living life to the fullest. That is until the past 5 years. I have a terribly painiful knee codition and I endure real pain with each step I take. I have been incredibly successful on every diet program I have ever been on. I sure have shown I can lose weight. Unfortunately, I have also shown I can gain every pound back and then some. So here I am at my heaviest, in constant debilitating pain. I needed a tool to help me keep the weight off. RNY is that tool and I am so blessed to be able to grab on and change my life. I hope to have the surgery sometime around the new year and 2009 will be the beginning of the rest of my life thanks to the miracle of medicine.
